At ITKAN, we take pride in seeing our teams go beyond the competition field to make a meaningful impact in their communities. ITKAN Future Gen 28919, an ITKAN parent-led FIRST Tech Challenge team, has spent the past month engaging with the community, exploring new technologies, and inspiring others through a series of outreach initiatives. Through these experiences, the team continues to represent ITKAN’s commitment to STEM education, innovation, and community involvement. Their efforts demonstrate that robotics is about much more than building a robot. It is about building connections, sharing knowledge, and inspiring the next generation.
Plano International Festival
Today, ITKAN Future Gen is participating in the Plano International Festival, joining a celebration of cultural diversity and community connection. Through their involvement, the team has an opportunity to introduce visitors to robotics and STEM, share their passion for innovation, and demonstrate how engineering can bring people together across different backgrounds.

LCIC Fall Fest
Also taking place today, LCIC Fall Fest provides another opportunity for ITKAN Future Gen to connect with the local community. By participating in this event, the team continues its outreach efforts by engaging with families and community members while sharing the excitement of STEM and robotics. Events like these help create welcoming spaces where young people can discover new interests, explore technology, and see themselves as future innovators.

Behind the Scenes at Amazon
As part of their exploration of real-world technology and engineering, ITKAN Future Gen visited an Amazon warehouse to learn more about its daily operations. The visit offered the team an opportunity to see how a large-scale warehouse functions, from the movement of products throughout the facility to the systems and processes that help keep operations running efficiently. By observing these operations firsthand, team members could connect their interests in robotics and engineering to the technologies, logistics, and problem-solving involved in modern industry.

Exploring Autonomous Driving at UT Dallas
The team also visited The University of Texas at Dallas to learn about NOVA, its applied autonomous driving project. This experience introduced the team to autonomous vehicle technology and its real-world applications. By exploring a project focused on autonomous driving, ITKAN Future Gen had the opportunity to see how engineering, computing, and innovation intersect to develop technologies that may shape the future of transportation. Experiences like this encourage students to look beyond the classroom and consider how their own interests in STEM can contribute to solving real-world challenges.

Building a Lasting Impact
From community festivals to industrial and university visits, ITKAN Future Gen continues to demonstrate the value of outreach, hands-on learning, and community engagement. We are incredibly proud of the team for representing ITKAN with enthusiasm and dedication, building connections, and helping bring STEM opportunities to a wider audience. Their efforts reflect the spirit of FIRST and ITKAN’s commitment to inspiring future innovators through education, collaboration, and community involvement.
