About this Class

Think in three dimensions. Design the machines of tomorrow. CAD is the foundation of modern engineering — the software through which today's most complex machines are designed, modeled, and tested before a single physical part is ever built. From aerospace components to surgical tools, CAD is how engineers turn ideas into reality. In this 8-week intensive, students move from core design principles and hands-on modeling in month one to integrating their designs into a competition-ready robot in month two — under conditions that mirror a real season. Learning CAD here means developing a true engineering mindset: thinking in three dimensions, designing with precision, and refining with purpose. Skills that translate directly into robotics, aerospace, biomedical engineering, architecture, and manufacturing. What students take with them: • Core CAD principles and 3D modeling • Precision design and engineering drawings • Designing parts for a real, competition-ready robot • Iterative design: model, test, and refine • An engineering mindset and spatial reasoning Held at the ITKAN Innovation Hub · 1701 10th Street, Plano, TX 75074 Grades 7–12 · Ages 11–18 · Summer 2026 · 8 weeks
